A. Bayona Netflix\u2019s waargebeurde rampenfilm\u00a0<em>Society of the Snow<\/em>\u00a0staat online.\u00a0De Spaanstalige film gaat over vlucht 571 van de Uruguayaanse luchtmacht. In 1972 werd deze gecharterd om een rugbyteam naar Chili te vliegen en stortte catastrofaal neer op een gletsjer in het hart van de Andes. Slechts 29 van de 45 passagiers overleefden de crash en moesten hun toevlucht nemen tot extreme maatregelen &#8211; waaronder kannibalisme &#8211; om in leven te blijven.<br><br>Het verhaal werd in 1993 al verfilmd als Alive, de tweede film van producent Frank Marshall (<em>Arachnophobia<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Congo<\/em>\u00a0en\u00a0<em>Eight Below<\/em>) met Ethan Hawke in de hoofdrol. Die film kreeg gemengde kritieken.\u00a0J. A. Bayona maakte eerder\u00a0<em>Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom<\/em>,\u00a0<em>The Impossible<\/em>\u00a0en\u00a0<em>The Orphanage<\/em>.\u00a0De ensemblecast bestaat uit echte Uruguayaanse en Argentijnse acteurs.
