Van alle films die in Veneti\u00eb werden vertoond, was<em>&nbsp;Dogman&nbsp;<\/em>van Luc Besson de film waarvan de filmmakers waarschijnlijk nerveuzer dan anderen zaten te wachten op de reactie van de pers na de eerste persvertoning.<br><br>De donkere thriller wordt door de media bestempeld als de comebackfilm van de regisseur. Het is zijn eerste speelfilm achter de camera sinds&nbsp;<em>Anna<\/em>&nbsp;uit 2019 en de eerste nadat zijn carri\u00e8re een omweg maakte na beschuldigingen van verkrachting, die vorig jaar werden vrijgesproken door een Franse rechter. Niet dat Besson&nbsp;<em>Dogman<\/em>&nbsp;zo ziet. Hij beweerde dat hij alleen maar blijft werken in de hoop dat wat hij schrijft goed genoeg is om er films van te blijven maken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Dogman&nbsp;<\/em>mag dan dezelfde actie en komedie hebben als Bessons eerdere films, velen hebben opgemerkt hoe de film de regisseur naar donkerder, emotioneler gebieden duwt, iets waarvan hij zei dat het een resultaat was van zijn groei als filmmaker. In bijna 50 jaar filmmaken is&nbsp;<em>Dogman<\/em>&nbsp;ook Bessons eerste film die meedoet aan een groot festival.
