Op het einde van de film dook plots de nieuwe rode knop &#8216;puberty&#8217; als voorbode op. In het vervolg <em>Inside Out 2<\/em> is Riley inmiddels dan ook een puber, waardoor vanzelfsprekend heel wat nieuwe emoties opduiken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Producer Mark Nielsen, die na de eerste <em>Inside Out<\/em> andermaal het roer in handen had, verklaarde het succes van de eerste film door de herkenbaarheid en het moeiteloos kunnen relateren met de hoofdpersonages. Dat geldt bij <em>Inside Out 2<\/em> zo mogelijk nog meer. Wie een puberdochter meemaakt(e) zal zich ongetwijfeld de bedenking maken: &#8216;t is overal hetzelfde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Om de emoties helemaal juist te krijgen, stelden de makers een groep van negen jonge (tussen 13 en 16 jaar oud) meisjes samen die de naam Riley\u2019s Crew meekregen. Zij kregen vanaf 2021 op verscheidene momenten onafgewerkte stukken film te zien en schreven in notitieboekjes hun opmerkingen neer. In deel 2 zijn de grootste namen bij de stemvertolkers opnieuw Amy Poehler als joy en de overrompelende nieuwkomer Maya Hawke als anxiety. Enigszins verrassend misschien als keuze maar wel hilarisch: Ad\u00e8le Exarchopoulos (<em><a href=\"https:\/\/fastforwardfilm.be\/?p=24159\" title=\"\">La vie d&#8217;Ad\u00e8le<\/a><\/em>) als de emotie &#8216;ennui&#8217; (verveling), zowat de visualisering van de uitspraak &#8216;whatever&#8217;, onafscheidelijk verbonden met rollende ogen. Bereid u voor op een heerlijk weerzien en wederhoren met sadness, ingesproken door Phyllis Smith (<em>The Office<\/em>).<br><br>Het gevaar dreigde dat het verrassingseffect van deel 1 niet meer zou spelen. Niets is minder waar, de nieuwe emoties zijn \u00e9\u00e9n voor \u00e9\u00e9n voltreffers. De stijl blijft zwieriger dan ooit en de animatie is andermaal dermate verbluffend dat jong en oud op het puntje van de stoel plaatsnemen. Geen wonder dat <em>Inside Out 2 <\/em>in het openingsweekend in de VS records aan diggelen sloeg. Met <em>Inside Out 2<\/em> serveren Disney en Pixar opnieuw een grand cru die bij ons de emotie excitement de overhand liet nemen.
