Na het vormelijke zijstapje<em> Loin<\/em> (2001) en het oorlogsdrama <em>Les Egar\u00e9s<\/em> (2003) bleef T\u00e9chin\u00e9 in goeden doen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Het verhaal cirkelt rond Antoine, een introverte en serene Parijzenaar van middelbare leeftijd die naar Marokko wordt gestuurd om een scherp oogje in het zeil te houden over de opbouw van een peperduur audiovisueel centrum. Zijn toezicht op de werf is eigenlijk een drogreden, want in werkelijkheid wil hij C\u00e9cile ontmoeten. Dertig jaar geleden waren zij geliefden, maar C\u00e9cile emigreerde naar Tanger waar ze huwde met Nathan, een joods-Marokkaanse dokter. Zoon Samy woont in Parijs, maar komt in het gezelschap van Nadia, een jonge ongehuwde moeder, zijn vakantie doorbrengen bij zijn ouders. Nadia hoopt de verstandhouding met haar tweelingzus in orde te brengen en Samy probeert de relatie met zijn homofiele vriend nieuw leven in te blazen. De egocentrische Nathan is intussen uitgekeken op zijn huwelijk. C\u00e9cile concentreert zich op haar werk en vult haar eenzame avonden als radiopresentatrice. Hoewel Antoine haar programma nog iedere avond aandachtig beluistert, is zij hem totaal vergeten. Hij daarentegen, heeft de breuk nooit verwerkt, is vrijgezel gebleven en hoopt om C\u00e9cile na al die jaren terug te winnen. Doelbewust en abrupt stapt Antoine haar leven opnieuw binnen in de hoop dat ze zijn liefde zal beantwoorden. Het amoureuze minnespel wordt vernuftig gespeeld tot het noodlot toeslaat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In <em>Les Temps qui Changent<\/em> slaagt T\u00e9chin\u00e9 er in om door een ingetogen stijl, een lyrische fotografie, een subtiel observerende camera en een ragfijne psychologische analyse, herkenbare en emotievolle personen van vlees en bloed op te roepen. Dankzij de degelijke acteursregie gaven de Franse iconen Deneuve en Depardieu hun beste prestatie weg sinds jaren. De Marokkaans\/ Belgische Lubna Azabal (<em>Viva Laldj\u00e9rie, Exils<\/em>} bewees met haar dubbele rol dat ze een nauwlettend te volgen en talentvolle ernstige actrice is.
