Gisteren werd de selectie van de Giornate degli Autori (Venice Days) bekendgemaakt. Wij zijn verheugd ook daar met<em> Quitter La Nuit<\/em> van Delphine Girard een Belgische titel tussen te zien prijken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Veerle Baetens vertolkt de hoofdrol in de film. Zij kruipt in de huid van Anna, een telefoniste van de hulpdiensten die &#8216;s nachts een verontrustende telefoontje van een vrouw in nood ontvangt. Er wordt een man gearresteerd, maar toch kunnen Anna, Aly (Selma Alaoui) en Dary (Guillaume Duhesme) die bewuste nacht maar niet loslaten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Delphine Girard vertegenwoordigde in 2020 ons land al tijdens de Oscaruitreiking. De Belgische cineaste van Canadese afkomst was toen genomineerd met de kortfilm <em>Une Soeur<\/em>, ook met Veerle Baetens in de hoofdrol. Haar eerste langspeelfilm <em>Quitter La Nuit<\/em> bouwt verder op <em>Une Soeur<\/em>.
