De Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences heeft de shortlists bekendgemaakt in 10 categorieën voor de komende 97e Oscars ceremonie. De shortlists gelden voor korte animatiefilm, korte documentaire, korte documentaire, internationale speelfilm, korte live action, make-up en hairstyling, originele score, origineel lied, geluid en visuele effecten.
Het stemmen op de Oscars om de genomineerden in alle 23 categorieën te bepalen begint op woensdag 8 januari en eindigt op zondag 12 januari. De nominaties worden op vrijdag 17 januari bekendgemaakt. Helaas geen Julie Zwijgt of Hearts Of Stone in de shortlist. Maar wel Soundtrack to a Coup d’Etat in de categorie documentaire-speelfilm en wie weet een Oscar?
